Earth Friendly Products Wave Jet Auto Dish Detergent

Earth Friendly Products Wave Jet Auto Dish Detergent, 8-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 12)

Flawless results - Animal & Earth Friendly too!5
Flawless results - Animal & Earth Friendly too! It works perfectly and I only need a small amount. I do have a powerful water softener and a brand new dishwasher but I still find I need a rinse aid. Wonderful.

The Best Environmentally Friendly Rinse Aid!5
I purchased this rinse aid from another website to try before purchasing in bulk. After trying Wave Jet I decided to try Ecover and compare the two. At first Ecover seemed to do the job at a slightly lower price but after using for approximately 30 days my dishwasher appeared to stop drying the dishes. Each load came out of the dishwasher needing to be hand dried. I thought my heating element was going out but I had it checked and it was not the problem. A friend suggested changing rinse aids. Ecover worked fine to begin with so why would that matter? Well after loads & loads of water covered dishes it was time to refill the rinse aid dispenser. I added Wave Jet and the first load and every load since has come out of the dishwasher dry & spot free. I still have a case of Ecover to get through but I'll be using Wave Jet after that. It works, it's earth friendly, Amazon's price is close to if not better than the nationally advertised brands, and it's made in the USA-What more could you ask for?

Shipping disasters1
The box of 12 (plastic) bottles of Rinse Aid came with about a third of the bottles leaking/damaged, apparently from either poor packaging, packing or shipment. A replacement order was fulfilled swiftly at no cost (other than my trip to the post office), but seepage all over the packing box, as well as the outer Amazon box, once again forced a return for which I'm seeking a refund.

Outdoor Cooking While Rafting and Camping Articles

Cooking outdoors is a very easy task with a little preparation and planning. If you are planning a rafting or camping trip, there are a few things to remember before you head out to the wilderness, and a few things that can turn a great riverside camp meal into a tantalizing, mouthwatering treat.

First, check your cooking equipment and make sure it is clean and well organized before heading outdoors. Include common utensils and equipment like spatula, turner, large serving spoons, knives, forks, spoons, plates, bowls, cups, coffee pot, cooking pots, pans, (preferably cast iron skillet and Dutch oven), lids, and plastic bags. Utensils can be stored separately in plastic Ziploc bags or long, thin plastic containers with lids. Stack cups inside bowls and pots and pans to utilize all areas of space and remember, you can stack upside down too! Once the tools of the trade are collected, be sure that your cook stove is clean and all working parts are present, including propane, regulator, briquettes, matches or lighter. A few other essentials to include in the cook tubs are pot holders or gloves, foil, cutting board, clean dish towels and scrubbers, dish soap, garbage bags, bleach and a flashlight.

Secondly, plan a menu for each meal of each day that you will be cooking outside. It is easiest to plan the menu by days and meals. For example, Day 1: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks; Day 2: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, etc. Once you have your menu planned you can easily make the list of ingredients that go into each meal or snack. Break the list into categories like meats, dairy, fruits, vegetables, dry goods and so on, until you have a complete list of supplies you need to pack. This list can also double as a shopping guide. Perishable items like meats should be frozen ahead of time and packed together in a cooler along with other items that need to be kept cold like milk or cheese. Be sure to pack frozen water bottles, or recycled juice bottles full of frozen water to keep ice chest temperatures cold. It is also a good idea to keep a small thermometer in the cooler so that you know temperatures are appropriate to prevent food spoilage. Crushed ice is added after everything else is packed into the cooler, and it is best to pack drinks in a cooler separate from the perishables cooler.

Now that everything is prepared and organized, a few other pantry items are pertinent to note. Add to the dry goods staples items such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, sugar in a mason jar with screwed down lid, an additional empty pint sized mason jar with lid, vanilla flavoring, other favorite herbs and spices including cinnamon and nutmeg, Pam, or your favorite brand of non stick cooking spray, tea, coffee and hot cocoa. These items can fit into a small storage tub with a lid and labeled as Preferred Pantry! In the cold cooler, be sure to add heavy whipped cream in a mason jar with lid, butter, milk and half and half.

Next comes the cooking. Take the time to organize the camp kitchen. Set up a hand washing station with water, pump soap and clean towel. Unpack tools and utensils so they are easy to reach, yet discretely out of the way. Prepare the garbage/recycle station before you start to cook. If you are using a small grill, set it up and check to make sure it works, and that you have placed it in a well ventilated area. Open coolers as little as possible to keep things cold. As the cooking begins, remember you are working at a slower pace than the stove at home. If using a campfire to cook, smoke will enhance and flavor meats and grilled vegetables with an unbelievably delightful flavor. When food finishes cooking, transfer to a plate and cover with a lid or aluminum foil to retain heat and flavor.

Finally, an impromptu treat of Same Day Cobbler is made possible by the supplies included in the pre-trip preparations. In August, there are many ripe blackberries. Pick a quart or two of the wild berries. Rinse and place the berries into a Dutch oven. Sprinkle with sugar and use about one tablespoon of butter and dot the berries. If berries aren't available, pack a can or two of peaches. After that, mix up the cobbler topping using the pancake mix you brought along. Add a few tablespoons of sugar to the mix, and mix with milk until t it is the consistency of a drop biscuit. Drop the cobbler dough on top of the berries or peaches. Sprinkle the top with a teaspoon full of sugar, put on the lid and bake in a Dutch Oven until you can see and smell the steam escaping from the top. While the cobbler is baking, fill a mason jar two-thirds full of heavy whipping cream. Add a dash of sugar, a touch of vanilla and screw the lid on tight. Now it is time for more fun! Pass the jar of whipping cream around the camp fire. As each person shakes it, watch your family and friends make whipped cream! When the Same Day Cobbler has finished cooking, serve with a little whipped cream. Enjoy!

Cooking outdoors can be very enjoyable and delicious. It contributes to the relaxing rhythm of an outdoor adventure and invites others to share in the work, or keep you company while you are cooking. Be sure to clean up, wipe down and store all unused food. Outdoor cooking is an integral element of rafting and camping. It enriches the experience, slows the pace and enhances the flavors of food. Enjoy what comes along and be sure to share the joy of cooking at the camp fire!

This product is among one of the best I have ever used in my dishwasher. My glassware comes out sparkling and no spots. I will continue to buy and use this.

Packets don't always melt 2
The product is good when it functions properly. I have had many instances where the packets do not melt in the dishwasher and my water temperature is set very hot. I am not sold on the product because of the issue with packets not melting.

Cascade 2-in-1 Action Pacs Dishwasher Detergent

Cascade 2-in-1 Action Pacs Dishwasher Detergent, Original Scent, 32-Count Bags (Pack of 5)

Customer Reviews

Cascade 2-in-1 Action Pacs - Superb5
This is the 2nd time that I've order Cascade 2-in-1 Action Pacs Dishwasher Detergent, Original Scent, 32-Count Bags (Pack of 5) - these little packets are so easy to use and my dishes sparkle! It's less expensive than the grocery store and they're shipped directly to my house! I'll order them again when I get down to one bag.

Work as described.5
I feel pretty bizarre writing a review for soap. It works as described, and the price is better than in the grocery stores.

Side note: These come in a plastic pouch that dissolves in water. That means that you should not handle them with wet hands, and you should not tear the plastic. Simply put the pouch in, and it takes care of itself.

This is clearly written on the packing, but I know not everyone will read it.

First product to battle soap build-up5
This is a wonderful product. Not only does it clean the dishes, it has also gradually degunked our dishwasher from years of hard water soap build up. I used to have to disassemble and clean filters and spray wands no matter whether I used liquid or powder. Now, the dishwasher is clean, the filter doesn't clog up, and the dishes look better. Wish I'd found this solution sooner.

Seventh Automatic Dishwasher Powder

Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwasher Powder, Free & Clear, 75-Ounces Boxes, Case Pack, (Pack of 8)

Customer Reviews

Great Eco-Friendly Option 4
Seventh Generation's Automatic Dishwasher Powder is great. I love that it cleans our dishes without the harmful addition of bleach. However, the one downside is because it does not have bleach or ammonia if we leave the dishes washed and don't open the door at least a crack all the dishes will smell musty. I think this is a small price to pay for much safer product for my family though.

it works 2
Every time I run my dishwasher with one of the major brands of dishwasher detergent, my son has an asthma attack. First, I tried the Seventh Generation powdered dishwasher detergent. My son didn't have asthma attacks with it, but it etched my plastics badly. Then I tried the Seventh Generation Lemon gel. It does not cause my son to have asthma attacks and it doesn't etch my plastics. I definitely recomend the gel. I have recently started using the Seventh Generation Laundry detergent, and I like that, too.

Etches Plastics 4
I've been using this product for about four or five years. A local store was closing and I was able to buy it rather cheaply. When my supply ran out, I was looking for a deal. I think I found it here.

I like the fact that it doesn't damage the environment - at least, not much. And it works. I've not had problems with 98% of the dishes I've put in the dishwasher.

Product Description

Learn differences of dish washing supplies

Dear Readers: Do you know the difference between dishwashing liquid and dishwasher gel? Dish soap and dishwashing detergent?

It's important to know the difference, because you will be very unhappy if you use the wrong one in the dishwasher!

So, be sure to follow the directions carefully and use mild DISHWASHING liquid to make my homemade, money-saving, all-purpose cleaner. This works great on grease and grime. Simply mix 1/2 cup nonsudsing ammonia, 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol and 1 teaspoon mild, regular dishwashing liquid (if you use concentrated or ultra, use 1/ 4 to 1/2 teaspoon) with enough water to make 1 gallon of cleaner.

You'll find this and a bunch of other eco-friendly, homemade cleaning formulas in my new pamphlet. If you would like one, please send $5 and a long, self-addressed, stamped (59 cents) envelope to: Heloise/Cleaners, P.O. Box 795001, San Antonio, TX 78279-5001. This six-page pamphlet contains formulas for cleaning everything from heavily soiled surfaces to windows and mirrors. You'll also find a tile grout cleaner that you can easily make by mixing up 1/4 cup borax, 1/2 cup baking soda and enough hot water to form a paste. Leave this on the grout for 15 to 20 minutes, scrub with an old toothbrush, then rinse it off, and your grout will look great! -- Heloise

Dear Heloise: I hated throwing away those large, plastic coffee cans, so I use them in the kitchen. Instead of going to the trash can every time I peel an onion or have something to dispose of, I line a can with a plastic bag from the produce department (another recycled item). When I'm done, I take the bag out, line with a fresh bag and I'm ready for the next meal. Also, I leave a bit of ground coffee in the bottom of the can to block any odors. --Thelma, via e- mail

Dear Heloise: I'm an avid gardener. Before putting on my gardener's gloves, I spray my entire hands (especially the cuticles, nail surface and beneath the nails) with nonstick vegetable spray. If any mud or dirt creeps through, cleaning my hands is a breeze. A bonus is that my hands also feel really soft after this treatment. - -Susan D., a Hondo, Texas, fan

How To Choose A Dishwashing Liquid Detergent

Choose Based on Performance Keep track of how much is actually required to get the dishes clean. Some formulas will break down much more quickly requiring you to change the water more frequently.

Scent Some people choose their dish washing liquid based on the scent, and there are many to choose from. Available scents include traditional fruit smells, flowers, and a branch of aromatherapy scents.

Color or display Many brands of dish washing liquids have different colors for their dishwashing liquid. If you want the dish liquid to match or blend with your decor, check for your favorite color. Other people will simply transfer their dishwashing liquid to a new more decor friendly container.

Environmental Aspect There are environmentally friendly dish washing liquids for those who are very environmentally concious. Find a brand that uses all natural ingredients or uses recycled materials for its packaging.

Gentlness on Hands Many people have sensitivities to detergents. Find a dish washing liquid that is gentle on your hands, or use rubber gloves, disposable gloves, or latex free gloves when washing the dishes.
